Algae for Health in Food and Pharma

Innovation & Industry Summit

This two-day summit will bring together scientists, innovators and industry leaders to explore the latest developments in algae cultivation and processing, food innovation, small molecules in pharma, and regulatory aspects. The goal is to advance understanding of algae’s health potential and highlight how it can be applied across food and pharmaceutical sectors. In addition to the event, participants can network further at the optional conference dinner or during the leisure excursion.

Abstract submission

Submission closed.

We are now accepting abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations. The work described in the abstracts should align with the conference topics. The text of the abstract should be one continuous paragraph of maximum 300 words. Please avoid abbreviations if possible; if they are crucial, resolve them at the first appearance. Please do not include references in the abstract. 

The submissions will undergo a peer review process which will inform the Organising Committee’s decision on acceptance. Submissions will be evaluated based on: 

  • Relevance to the conference theme 
  • Interest 
  • Contribution to scholarship, practice or policy 
  • Method 
  • Overall quality 

Selected submissions for: 

  • Oral presentation: The length of the oral presentations is usually not longer than 10 minutes. If there is more than one presenter, please note that the maximum time allowance will still be the same as for other presentations. We will inform the presenting authors about the exact time allotted for the oral presentations in due course. 
  • Poster presentation: The posters will be divided into thematic blocks. Posters should be prepared in vertical DinA0 format, and the presenting author should be present as a representative during the poster session. 

A prize of 150 EUR will be awarded for the best oral presentation and the best poster, sponsored by Wiley.

Conference fee applies for every additional pass.
Conference dinner not included in the fee.

We offer a limited number of exhibitions booths for companies to showcase their services or products. Exhibitors will have the chance to connect to around 200 participants including key players in the growing algae-based health and nutrition sectors. Exhibition stands are reserved on first-come first-served base.

Trip to Howth

This trip will take you to Howth for a cliff walking tour and lunch on 6th March. More information will follow.

We recommend conference attendees to stay at Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa which offers elegant rooms, award-winning dining, and a tranquil spa. It is just 10 km from the conference venue and participants can avail of Uber or taxi from the hotel to the venue.

Participants preferring hotels in Dublin city centre can, additionally to Uber or taxi, get the train from Connolly Station to the event venue at the Teagasc Food Research Centre.
